Generating files

SovrGPT can deliver a result as a file: PowerPoint, Word, Excel or PDF. Say in the chat what you need, for example "turn this into a presentation" or "as a Word file, please". The file appears as a download below the answer.

You do not need to switch anything on. If your intent is not recognised, turn on the "Datei" (file) entry in the "Werkzeuge" (tools) menu below the input field.

SovrGPT generates the file itself; no content goes to an external conversion service. The download link is valid for ten minutes and is renewed when you reopen the chat.

Presentations

A presentation is created as a craft: a view in which you can look at the slides, change them, share them and export them as PPTX, web page or PDF.

Asking for a deck

Usually asking in the chat is enough. With vague phrasings such as "just sum that up for me", though, you sometimes get slides and sometimes prose. The slides button in the input row, next to the paperclip and the microphone, makes it unambiguous:

1. Press the button. /craft appears in the input.
2. Write what it should be about, after the keyword.
3. Send.

You then get exactly one deck. You can also type /craft yourself.

To undo it, press the button again or delete /craft from the input. /craft only works at the start of a message. In the middle of a sentence or without the slash it triggers nothing.

Your colours

The colour scheme is worked out for each presentation, from what you tell us:

1. You name your colour, e.g. "Our blue is #1E4B8F" or "we are dark red".
2. You attach an image, such as a logo, a screenshot or an old slide. Its defining colours are adopted. This needs a model that can see images (see Models).
3. You name the industry, e.g. "for our municipal utilities" or "a tax consultancy". The colour scheme then fits the industry.
4. You say nothing. You get a calm default colour scheme.

Below the file it says where the colours came from, for example "colour scheme from the brand colour you specified, #B01E48". That way you can see whether your input arrived.

Legibility comes before brand fidelity. Every combination of text and surface is checked. If the contrast is below 4.5:1 (WCAG 2.2 AA for body text), we shift the lightness until it is reached. The hue stays, so your brand remains recognisable. This also applies to colours you name for individual elements; we tell you when a colour was adjusted. It helps with greyscale printing, too.

How the slides are built

The title and closing slides carry the brand colour across the full area. In between, a slide in the contrasting style regularly sets a break; two emphasised slides never follow each other directly. The model chooses from ten slide types:

What should be said but not shown goes into the speaker notes. You can steer the structure in the chat, e.g. "the slide with the three risks should be the break", "leave out the heading on this slide" or "centre the bullet list".

Images on the slides

Attach an image to your message (PNG or JPEG) and say where it should go, e.g. "put the logo on the title slide". It goes on its own image slide or to the right of a bullet list.

• Images are fitted with their aspect ratio preserved; a logo is never distorted.
• Every image gets a description (alt text) for screen readers.
• Only images from your chat are used. Nothing is loaded from the internet.
• If a named image is missing, the slide is created without it and the caption says so.
• SVG and WebP do not work because PowerPoint does not embed them reliably. Save such graphics as PNG first.

The text does not overflow

PowerPoint only shrinks overlong text once someone clicks into the text box. On first opening, a long heading would visibly overflow. So we measure in advance how wide each line becomes and fix the font size.

The slides use Arial because it is available on Windows, macOS and in LibreOffice. If a font is missing, PowerPoint substitutes it and the layout shifts. An embedded corporate font requires rights we do not hold for other companies' brands.

Reworking an existing PowerPoint

Attach a .pptx file and say what should change. SovrGPT reads the slides in and creates a craft. Text, shapes and images stay where they were. Not carried over are:

• animations and slide transitions,
• the link to slide masters and layouts,
• tables as tables (the content stays, but as individual text boxes),
• the data link of charts and SmartArt,
• videos and embedded objects,
• freeform shapes (they become rectangles).

The answer in the chat lists what was lost.

The craft: view, change, share

Below every presentation, next to the download, there is "Open as craft". The view shows all slides one below the other. Clicking an element selects it; you can then change the following:

Changes are saved immediately; at the bottom right it says "saved · version n". "Export as PPTX" gives you an additional file; the original stays in the conversation.

You can also ask for changes in the chat, e.g. "Change the third slide: the heading should carry the key statement." The assistant changes only the named slides, and the result lands in the same craft. If the craft is open at the same time, the system does not overwrite anything silently and asks you to reload.

Your decks are listed under "Crafts" in the sidebar, newest first. Other members of your organisation cannot see them, owners and admins included; share a craft by link if needed. A craft is kept even if you delete the chat.

Sharing

"Share" creates a link to a stand-alone web version of the deck. Recipients need no account and see only this craft. By default the link has a password, generated for you, and is valid for 30 days; you can also choose 7 or 90 days, one year or no expiry. You can revoke a link at any time.

Downloading as a web page, and a PDF from it

"As web page (HTML)" gives you a single file that you open by double-clicking, with no server, installation or internet.

To make a PDF, use "Print → Save as PDF". Each slide becomes one page, with backgrounds and gradients, without the control bar and speaker notes. The address remembers the slide: …#7 shows the seventh.

The file loads nothing from the internet. Images sit inside the page, the fonts are system fonts, and its own security policy (default-src 'none') blocks any loading. So you can open it in an air-gapped environment too. Checked in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. The same applies to the craft view itself: the slides run there in a sandboxed frame without script execution.

The view is not pixel-accurate, because a browser measures text differently from PowerPoint.

What does not work yet

In PowerPoint you can edit the slides freely afterwards: they are real text boxes and shapes, not images. SovrGPT itself cannot yet:

• Create charts. Numbers come as a key-figures slide or a table. For a chart, have the data delivered as Excel.
• Add transitions or animations.
• Move elements freely. You can set font size, colour, alignment and visibility, in the chat or in the craft, but not place anything at an arbitrary spot. That way nothing overlaps and no text runs out of its box.
• Use your own template. You can specify your colours, but not yet store a .pptx template that new decks are written into.

Word, Excel and PDF

These three formats are deliberately plain and meant for further work:

• Word gives body text with headings and bullet lists in Calibri 11 pt, with space before and after headings. A Word file contains no tables; for those, have the data delivered as Excel.
• Excel gives worksheets with a frozen header row and column widths that fit the content. Number formats are derived from the column names: a currency such as "EUR" in the name gives thousands separators and the currency sign; shares under "%", "share" or "Anteil" appear as percentages. A row labelled "Total" or "Summe" is bold. SovrGPT does not insert formulas; the values arrive already calculated.
• PDF gives a print-ready A4 page.

Limits

• At most 25 MB per generated file. A nine-slide presentation is around 20 KB.
• At most 100 slides per presentation. A longer file is cut when it is read in, and the answer says so.
• Uploaded presentations can be up to 80 MB.
• The download link is valid for ten minutes. After that it is reissued when you open the chat; the file itself is kept.
• Only models with tool support create files, /craft included. Smaller models need clearer instructions: "create a presentation about X with five slides" works better than "just summarise this". Which model suits what is described under Models.
